PatPat Size Chart

A garment labelled 90 is cut for a child about 90 cm tall. On our charts that lands in 3Y, which we draft for 88.9–99.1 cm and label US 3T. The same logic works for any number on a label: 110 falls in our 4-5Y (US 5T, 104.1–111.8 cm), 130 sits on the line between 7-8Y and 8-9Y, and 140 between 9-10Y and 10-11Y. The height table above lists every step with our own ranges, so you can place a child by their actual height rather than by the number on an old label.

On PatPat, yes — identical draft, two labels. Both are cut for 83.8–88.9 cm and 28–30 lb, with a 20.5–21 in chest. Which of the two appears depends on the product line: the toddler and kids range uses 2T, 3T, 4T, 5T, while matching family sets and most single-child items use 2Y, 3Y, 3-4Y and so on. If a 2Y has fitted your child, order the 2T without hesitating.

On the small number of our kids products that use youth letters, M(9-10Y) is our 9-10Y kids draft: 134.6–139.7 cm tall, 71–84 lb, with a 27.5–28.5 in chest for girls. The age is printed inside the label precisely because the letter on its own gets read as an adult size. The full set runs XS(5-6Y), S(7-8Y), M(9-10Y), L(11-12Y) and XL(13-14Y), and each one matches the kids size of the same age.

Go by weight, not by age. Every baby size on our chart carries a weight range as well as a height — 0-3M is 9–13 lb, 6-9M is 17–21 lb, 12-18M is 25–28 lb — and babies of the same age differ far more in weight than in length. If a baby sits on a boundary, take the larger size: sleepwear and bodysuits are cut with ease, and the larger one is wearable for longer.

Because we do not publish one. The Newborn size is drafted to height and weight only — 18–22 in and 6–9 lb — and the chest, waist and hip cells are genuinely empty in our own chart. Rather than fill them with an estimate, we show them as blank. Every other size in the catalogue has all five figures.

They belong to two different charts. Our standard adult chart runs XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL. Our plus-size chart runs 0XL to 4XL against US 14W–22W and is a fuller cut rather than a straight scale-up — a plus-size 2XL is US 18W with a 43.7–46.1 in chest and a 46.1–48.4 in hip. Both charts are published above. Match on your chest and hip measurement and the letters stop mattering.

The women's chart runs to XXXL (46–48.5 in chest, 48–50.8 in hip) and the plus-size chart to 4XL (US 22W). The men's chart runs to XXXL, a 48–50.5 in chest. That is what we draft; what is actually on sale is narrower. Right now women's 4XL appears on 25 products and men's 4XL on five, against 417 products carrying women's XL. If you need the top of the range, start from the size and work towards a print.

Two, and they are measured differently from everything else on this page. S(Pets) is cut for a 9.8–16.5 in neck and an 8.8–39.5 lb dog; L(Pets) for a 16.5–20.5 in neck and a 39.5–70.5 lb dog. Measure the neck where a collar sits rather than at the shoulders. L(Pets) is stocked more widely, on 107 products against 87 for S(Pets).

Not until about six years old. From 2Y through 5-6Y the two charts are cell-for-cell identical. They separate from 6-7Y upward, and the gap widens with age: at 13-14Y the girls' chest is 32.5–34 in against 33–35 in for boys, and the waists differ by roughly two and a half inches. Below six, order either — you are ordering the same pattern.

They overlap. Our largest kids size, 13-14Y, is drafted for 157.5–163.8 cm, and the women's chart opens at XS for 154.9–160.0 cm. A teenager anywhere between 154.9 and 163.8 cm genuinely fits both, so choose on chest measurement: the 13-14Y is cut for a narrower chest than a women's XS. Above 163.8 cm there is no kids size and the adult chart is the only one that applies.

They are the same data, read out of the same source. The size chart that opens on a product page is generated from our pattern data, and this page is built from that data directly rather than retyped. Nothing here comes from another retailer or a generic conversion table. What this page adds is that you can see all of the charts at once, in both units, plus how deeply each size is stocked — none of which fits inside a pop-up.

The measurements are the same, because Christmas pajamas are cut on the same patterns as the rest of the matching family range. What differs is availability — a seasonal collection does not carry every size on every print.
