A set is cut from one run of fabric. A coordinate is two pieces chosen to look similar. In a room they are indistinguishable; in a photograph under warm indoor light, two slightly different reds read as an error.

Sizing a Whole Family Set in December
The extreme sizes go first, and they go early. Adult XL and up, plus 3T-4T, are usually gone by the last week of November — not because stock is short, but because those are the sizes families order last after deciding to include everyone.
When to Order for December
Two to three weeks before the date you need it, which for a Christmas card shoot means late October rather than December. Photo sessions happen four to six weeks before the cards go out, and that is the deadline people forget.
Getting More Than One Wear Out of It
The plaid and knit pieces carry into January as normal clothes; velvet and tulle do not. If a set is going to be worn once, that is fine — but choosing plaid means the top stays in rotation, which changes the cost per wear entirely.
